GLOBIS Launches Visionary Leadership Program: Its First English Offering for Global Executives in Japan
TOKYO (April 28, 2026)—GLOBIS Corporation will launch the Visionary Leadership Program (VLP), a new executive education program for senior leaders and managers from around the world. Participants gather in Kyoto and Tokyo for a one-week immersive experience that provides new perspectives on Japanese values and management philosophy, sharpens essential decision-making skills for uncertain times, and refines leadership anchored in a strong sense of kokorozashi (personal mission).
To navigate an uncertain era and create a future that breaks from the past, leaders must acquire new ways of seeing the world. In this context, management philosophy and societal values rooted in Japan—characterized by long-term vision, stakeholder coexistence, harmony between humans and technology, and decision-making that emphasizes frontline and tacit knowledge—are being re-evaluated globally as essential tools for moving beyond short-termism toward sustainable, human-centric leadership.
The Visionary Leadership Program (VLP) fosters a leadership paradigm shift by immersing participants in Japan’s unique culture and values, and exploring the globally relevant management philosophies shaped by them. Concepts to be explored include Longtermism, stakeholder harmony, Human Capital Focus, and kokorozashi-driven leadership.
As the need for better cross-border management grows, the VLP will be launched as the latest program to consolidate GLOBIS’s expertise in human resource development, purpose-driven leadership development, and cross-cultural management.
VLP Features
- Experiential Leadership Development Set in Japan
The program features a five-day session in Japan—two days in Kyoto and three in Tokyo—bracketed by two online sessions. Participants immerse themselves in Japanese values through ikebana and Zen meditation at Myoshinji Temple, gaining a deep understanding of the Way of Mastery. This journey challenges leaders to re-examine their perspectives and lead change more sustainably. The blended format of online and in-person sessions ensures the learning experience translates into long-term reflection and practice.
- Cultivating Decision-making Skills Centered on Kokorozashi
The program tackles essential questions such as: What do we want to leave for the future? What is the true role of a business? How should humans exist in the AI era? Participants will acquire decision-making skills informed by multifaceted perspectives, clarify their higher purpose (kokorozashi) rooted in their personal values, and forge a trusted network that will offer mutual support well into the future. Through this program, GLOBIS aims to develop visionary leaders equipped with conceptual ability and decisiveness in an era of drastic change.
- Global Learning Across Borders and Industries
The program is designed for department managers, general managers, and above at multinational corporations. Regardless of nationality or industry, it targets future leaders, sparking dialogue among participants from diverse backgrounds to broaden perspectives and nurture the next generation of senior executives.
In addition, participants will be eligible to participate in G1 Global and G1 Silicon Valley, organized by G1 Institute, a non-profit affiliate of the GLOBIS Group (fees apply). Participants gain the opportunity to discuss global issues with leaders from the business, government, and academic worlds, expanding their perspectives and professional networks.
