GLOBIS University Students Win Japan Business School Case Competition, Dominating the Final Round and Sweeping All 3 Special Prizes

CATEGORIES:GLOBIS UNIVERSITY

Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo – A GLOBIS University student team won this year’s Japan Business School Case Competition (JBCC), held on July 21. Among 119 teams from 23 business schools all over Japan, GLOBIS boasted four out of the five teams in the final round and all winners of the three special prizes.

JBCC is a competition for business school students to identify problems facing Japanese companies and propose solution strategies. This year marks JBCC’s 10th anniversary. Teams were evaluated based on their analyses of business environment and company situation, as well as proposed future growth strategies for agricultural machinery manufacturers.

The winning team, led by 2018 GLOBIS graduate Shimon Hayashi, proposed financing and organizational changes to realize digital transformation in agriculture. The team was highly praised by the judges for its “ability to analyze and develop medium- to long-term strategies.”

Yoshihiko Takubo, Dean of GLOBIS University, commented on the results: “I am very pleased that the GLOBIS team won the championship, as well as three special prizes. We are proud of the school spirit at GLOBIS. A great number of students devoted themselves to JBCC. Many of our graduates volunteered behind the scenes to provide administrative support, and a great number of friends went to the venue to support their classmates in the finals.”
