GLOBIS University Welcomes Its Largest English MBA Cohort So Far: 141 Students from 39 Nationalities

CATEGORIES:GLOBIS UNIVERSITY

Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo—GLOBIS University held its annual entrance ceremony for the 2025 English MBA programs on September 7. This year, the largest cohorts ever for both English MBA programs are starting their journey at GLOBIS University. A total of 83 students from 29 countries and regions are entering the Part-time and Online MBA Program, while 58 students from 22 countries and regions have enrolled in the Full-time MBA Program.

The communities from regions with GLOBIS subsidiaries continue to grow, resulting in an influx of students from Europe, the Philippines, Thailand, and the Americas, as well as other growing communities like Indonesia.

GLOBIS University President and Founder Yoshito Hori welcomed the new cohort with a special address;

Pursue your personal mission throughout the curriculum at GLOBIS. I hope you can find the meaning of your life and come up with your kokorozashi. If you have kokorozashi, you will be able to overcome any kind of challenges with strong passion.

Three student representatives addressed their fellow incoming classmates.

Full-time MBA representative Cameron Gibson from the USA shared about the kind of community he wants to create at GLOBIS—joyous and full of mutual understanding:

I also hope to help create this type of environment here at GLOBIS this year. I’d like to ask you all to help me do this. We can do this through self-reflection, having an open-mind while listening to others, and challenging each other. I encourage everyone to be willing to give and receive feedback freely this year.

First Part-time and Online MBA representative Shozo Okumura from Japan spoke about the transformative power of IT and AI and why it is necessary to acquire business skills to compete in the global technology landscape:

Now, with the rapid rise of AI, we are entering a new phase of transformation. But while AI is advancing at an incredible pace, it is not the technology itself that creates value, it’s how we apply it. That’s why I believe critical thinking, business frameworks, and hands-on experience are more important than ever.
This is exactly what brought me to GLOBIS. I want to learn how to build something from zero to one through venture capital, and how to scale it from one to one hundred through marketing and finance. I believe these skills are essential for shaping the future of business and innovation.

Second Part-time and Online MBA representative Hinza Asif from Pakistan shared about the values she wants to bring to her MBA experience:

Beginning this journey is both exciting and humbling. We know it will challenge us—through rigorous coursework, intense discussions, and countless late nights. But we also know that this program is about more than academics. It is about learning from one another, building lifelong friendships, and preparing ourselves to lead with courage, creativity, and integrity in a rapidly changing world.

This year’s Part-time Online MBA Program has 83 new students from 29 countries and regions: Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Myanmar, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Russia, Spain, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, the Philippines, United Kingdom, United States, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam.

The Full-time MBA Program has 58 students representing 22 countries and regions: Bangladesh, Canada, Chile, China, France, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Italy, Malaysia, Norway, the Philippines, Romania, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States, and Zimbabwe.
