Muscat, Oman—In a significant step toward expanding GLOBIS’s collaborations in the Middle East, President Yoshito Hori visited Oman on October 30-31 at the invitation of the Royal Academy of Management. Accompanied by Toru Takahashi, CEO of GLOBIS Europe, and Aiste Dewulf, Chief Learning Officer of GLOBIS Europe, Hori engaged with high-ranking officials, startup founders, and leaders from both the public and private sectors to discuss innovative approaches to economic development and leadership enhancement.

During the visit, dialogues with key figures in Oman’s economic landscape highlighted the importance of collaboration in driving progress and development. Key insights on innovation through strategic partnerships were shared by H.E. Dr. Ali bin Qassim Al Lawati, President of the Royal Academy of Management and our valued partner at RAM.

The discussions also included other prominent leaders such as H.E. Ibtisam Al Farouji, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion; H.E. Sheikh Dr. Ali Al Sunaidy, President of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones; H.E. Halima Al-Zari, President of the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority; and Mr. Rashid Al Hashmi , Senior Manager of Future Fund Oman at the Oman Investment Authority.

This visit follows the successful “Future Leaders Program,” a collaboration between GLOBIS and RAM in delivering module 3. In September, 50 young Omani professionals participated in a five-day program in Japan, where they explored global best practices in leadership, change management, and innovation.

In addition to his engagements in Oman, Hori participated in the 8th Future Investment Initiative conference in Riyadh. This annual forum convenes global leaders, investors, and innovators to drive investment in future-focused sectors. At the conference, Hori highlighted Japan’s approach to business and venture capital, stressing the need for cross-border collaboration and the role of joint ventures in driving growth in emerging markets.

A significant milestone of the Saudi visit was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with STC, renewing our partnership. This agreement marks the start of a collaboration on training programs for executives and middle managers, as well as masterclasses in technology strategy, leadership, and business development. Additionally, it also aims to implement powerful social initiatives to benefit communities.

Hori’s visit to Oman and Saudi Arabia underscores GLOBIS’s dedication to building strategic partnerships and enhancing leadership capabilities in the Middle East, contributing to the region’s sustainable development and innovation goal.
