GLOBIS Starts Workplace COVID-19 Vaccinations for Employees, Families, Students, and Alumni

Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo–On June 21, 2021, GLOBIS started a COVID-19 vaccination program through the Japanese government’s initiative to vaccinate in the workplace. Eligibility for free vaccination at the GLOBIS office extends to all GLOBIS Group employees and their families, as well as faculty, part-time and full-time students, and alumni. Additionally, those who work for companies GLOBIS Capital Partners or GLOBIS Group have invested in are also eligible, along with their families. All vaccine recipients must be between the ages of 18 and 65.

Vaccination is being carried out at the GLOBIS University Annex in Tokyo. Furthermore, vaccinated GLOBIS employees can take up to two days of special paid leave as necessary to recover from side effects.

Registration opened on Thursday, June 17, for an inoculation period to span June 21 – July 3. The government has allocated Moderna vaccines for 5,000 people (10,000 doses) to the GLOBIS facility. These are being administered by registered in-house physicians and nurses from both the GLOBIS Group and medical institutions that GLOBIS has invested in. Those who receive their first dose at GLOBIS are obliged to receive their second at the same location four-to-seven weeks later, as recommended by government and medical authorities.

Since 2020, GLOBIS has proactively collaborated with the Japanese government to offer a safe learning environment for students during the COVID-19 pandemic. Initiatives included moving MBA classes online, holding hybrid events, and imposing strict transmission prevention methods on campus. In the spirit of “never stop learning,” GLOBIS has prioritized student safety in these trying times.

GLOBIS Inoculation Program

First Inoculation Period
June 21 (Mon) – July 3 (Sat)
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10:00 to 17:00

Second Inoculation Period:
4 – 7 weeks after the first dose (For example, after a first dose on June 21, the second should fall between July 19 and August 7)
Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 10:00 to 17:00.

Eligible Individuals
All vaccine recipients must be over 18 and under 65 years of age and fall into one of the following groups:
1. Employees of the GLOBIS Group (including faculty) and their families
2. Students (Full-time / Part-Time & Online MBA Programs only) and alumni of GLOBIS Graduate School of Management.
3. GLOBIS Capital Partners investee company employees and their families
4. Other GLOBIS investee company employees and their families

Inoculation Staff
Vaccinations are administered by in-house GLOBIS Group physicians, as well as doctors and nurses from external partner medical institutions.
