TOKYO (August 08, 2026)—GLOBIS Corporation launched a dedicated relief donation portal on August 6, 2026, to support disaster recovery following the Kumamoto Earthquake on July 28, 2026. Operated under the name Unite for KUMAMOTO 2026 – GLOBIS / KIBOW / Lucky Robots Group, the initiative collects funds for recovery efforts in the affected areas.

Donations made through this dedicated site are received by the KIBOW Foundation (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Yoshito Hori; hereinafter “KIBOW”) and used to support activities that contribute to the recovery of the affected areas.

GLOBIS has an established history of rapid disaster response, beginning with the establishment of KIBOW three days after the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, followed by dedicated relief drives for the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake and the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake.

The Unite for KUMAMOTO 2026 campaign aims to mobilize GLOBIS University students, alumni, faculty, and corporate partners, alongside Ibaraki Robots sports fans, LuckyFM radio listeners, and music festival attendees. The campaign will be actively promoted on-site at LuckyFes’26, an outdoor music festival hosted by LuckyFM Ibaraki Broadcasting from August 8 to 11 at Hitachi Seaside Park in Hitachinaka, Ibaraki Prefecture.

My deepest sympathies go out to everyone affected by the 2026 Kumamoto Earthquake. It is heartbreaking to see Kumamoto hit by another severe disaster following the 2016 earthquake and the July 2020 torrential rains. As evacuees endure extreme summer heat, ensuring their safety and health—as well as the rapid recovery of the region—is our top priority.

To deliver immediate, practical aid to survivors and front-line emergency teams, we launched this donation platform under the KIBOW Foundation.

KIBOW was established in the wake of the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake. Over the years, I have visited Kumamoto multiple times to support local recovery efforts, including visits in September 2016, April 2017, and April 2018, as well as attending G1 Kumamoto last September to discuss disaster management with Mayor Kazufumi Onishi of Kumamoto City.

By tapping into the strong community connections built across the GLOBIS and Lucky Robots groups, we aim to expand our circle of support and restore the lives and livelihoods of those in the impacted areas.
