GLOBIS University Welcomes its Largest Cohort to Date: 116 English MBA Candidates
Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo—GLOBIS University held its annual entrance ceremony for the 2023 English MBA programs on September 10. Students attended both online and on campus in a hybrid ceremony. This year, 77 students from 18 countries are entering the Part-time and Online MBA Program, while 39 students from 17 countries have enrolled in the Full-time MBA Program.
GLOBIS University President Yoshito Hori welcomed the aspiring business leaders in a special address, stating,
“The power of education is the driving force behind GLOBIS. With the power of education, new ideas become possible. Our mission is to educate you to become visionary leaders who create and innovate societies. You shall be the ones to transform Japan, Asia, and the world.”
Three student representatives addressed their fellow incoming classmates. Among them, Kazuma Shirai, a student from Japan joining the Part-time and Online MBA Program, spoke about helping each other to grow during the program;
“A famous African proverb says ‘If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.’ I believe that we are all ready for the new challenge. I was happy to hear words like respectful, inclusive, and collaborative in our ‘Class Way’ discussion during Student Life Orientation. Let us help each other and make this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity a really special one.”
Another incoming Part-time and Online MBA student, Titiporn (Jiew) Nuntapramote from Thailand, spoke about learning from real-world experience. She said,
“I believe in continuous growth, and that’s why I am excited to be part of the GLOBIS community. The interactive learning environment and emphasis on real-world experiences align perfectly with my goals. I’m convinced that the diverse perspectives from all of my cohorts and faculties will help me to develop strategies, and craft a plan that fosters a positive work culture.”
Sharfa Wazifa Hannan from Bangladesh, the Full-time MBA Program representative, stated,
“I urge each of us to embrace diversity in all its forms—cultural, academic, and experiential. It is through diversity that we gain fresh perspectives, broaden our horizons, and foster an environment where creativity thrives. Our journey is about supporting each other as we climb the academic and professional ladder. We are part of a community that shares a common goal—a commitment to excellence and positive change.”
In the Part-time Online MBA Program, there are 77 incoming students from 18 countries and regions: Canada, China, France, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Japan, Liberia, Nigeria, the Philippines, Poland, Russia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, United States, and Vietnam. In the Full-time MBA Program, there are 39 students representing 17 countries: Bangladesh, China, France, India, Indonesia, Iran, Mexico, Mongolia, Panama, the Philippines, South Africa, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand, United States, Vietnam, and Yemen.
