GLOBIS University Holds First Reunion for English MBA Program Alumni

(Tokyo, Japan) On July 1, 2018, GLOBIS University held its first ever reunion for graduates of the Part-time MBA and Full-time MBA programs conducted in English, which have welcomed students from over 50 countries. More than 60 alumni from the classes of 2009 – 2015 attended.

The reunion consisted of a full day of keynote speeches and interactive workshops, showcasing the latest innovations from GLOBIS. Alumni came together to revitalize network connections and further enhance their business skills.

GLOBIS alumna Kazuyo Yasuda from the class of 2015 commented, “I enjoyed not only reconnecting with my classmates, but I am also grateful for the opportunity to continue learning and deepen my understanding of the latest business developments.”

Headlining the event was a dialogue between Jesper Koll, CEO of Wisdom Tree Japan, and Yoshito Hori, President of GLOBIS University. Mr. Koll and Mr. Hori spoke about the skills required for business leaders to bring about positive change in this age of economic and political volatility.

A speech by Deputy Dean Jorge Calvo introduced alumni to the GLOBIS Technovate Initiative, which combines traditional business skills with technological capabilities. Celebrated alumni Mihoko Suzuki and Jose F. Villasenor also presented their kokorozashi, or personal missions, at a workshop led by Dean Tomoya Nakamura, encouraging alumni to reflect on their own commitments and goals. Kokorozashi is a cornerstone concept of GLOBIS University, which aims not only to impart business knowledge in its graduates, but also instill a sense of purpose to become influential leaders in organizations and societies across the globe.
