63 Students Graduate from GLOBIS University Part-time and Online English MBA Program

Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo–GLOBIS University held its graduation ceremony for the 11th graduating class of the Part-time and Online English MBA Program on November 7, 2021. The event, held both online and in-person at the Tokyo campus, celebrated 63 graduates from 17 countries.

The GLOBIS English Part-time MBA Program was launched in 2009, with the online component introduced in 2017. The English MBA program has since celebrated a total of 662 graduates.

In his commencement speech, President and Founder of GLOBIS University, Yoshito Hori, shared encouragement for students to find purpose in their life; “In class you learned how to believe in yourself. If you do not believe in yourself, who would trust you or believe in you? After all, it is your life. You must live with your own values, not with other persons’ values.”

Three graduates gave speeches, expressing their determination to take action and find success in their careers.

Kengo Takeuchi, a graduate from Japan, shared what he has learned while earning his MBA. “One of the essential lessons I learned is that there is no absolute right answer. The most important thing is the process of considering options, struggling, researching, discussing, then making a choice. Once we make a choice, we shall pursue the choice with full effort and accountability.”

Alba Ameller, a graduate from Spain, spoke about overcoming her fears to reach success. “The secret to success is not a secret. You know what to do, you just need to practice.”

Missael Lopez Ibarra, a graduate from Mexico, talked about the importance of taking risks in your career. He said, “never grow satisfied with the status quo. Take risks and challenge yourself to even greater heights, and find a purpose and mission that will benefit you and the ones around you. These are some of the valuable lessons I acquired here at GLOBIS.”

With almost 40% of students coming from outside of Japan, the GLOBIS MBA offers a global study experience, both online and in person. This year’s graduates come from 17 countries: Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Myanmar, the Philippines, Poland, Spain, Tanzania, Thailand, The UK, The US, and Sri Lanka.
