GLOBIS Completes Nearly 5,000 Workplace COVID-19 Vaccinations for Employees, Families, Students, and Alumni
Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo–On August 7, 2021, GLOBIS Corporation completed its COVID-19 vaccination program through the Japanese government’s workplace vaccination initiative. Over 22 days, approximately 5,000 individuals were given their first and second doses of Moderna.
The vaccination program began on Monday, July 21, and finished administering all second doses by August 7, 2021. Those who received the shots included approximately 500 employees from the GLOBIS Group and lecturers from the Graduate School of Management, GLOBIS University; about 470 family members of employees; roughly 1,900 graduates and current students; and just under 2,000 employees of the GLOBIS Group’s portfolio companies and their families.
Appointments for the first shot were available over two weeks (from June 21 – July 3). The appointment period for the second jab was extended to three weeks to increase the availability of time slots (from July 19 – August 17). During this period, two additional inoculation days were added (12 days total).
To ensure availability of the second shot, GLOBIS adopted flexible measures to accommodate reservation changes.
Safety remained a top priority throughout the vaccination program. In order to certify safe delivery of the vaccine, the vial temperatures were thoroughly checked every morning and evening. Storage was strictly regulated according to instructions provided by the Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare.
In total, 25 vaccine doses (1.1 doses/day) were discarded over the 22-day period due to same day appointment cancellations caused by unwellness (21 doses) and damage to syringes (4 doses).
GLOBIS will continue to take measures against the spread of COVID-19 in accordance with government standards. Beyond the workplace vaccination program, we aim to adapt to the “new normal” while ensuring the safety of the community.
